How
does Loma Lux® Psoriasis work?
The active ingredients are primarily inorganic water-soluble nickel
and bromide salts. The exact mechanism of action is unknown; however,
it is likely that the active ingredients help the body compensate for
a primary genetic biochemical defect. This biochemical defect is felt
to be a nickel-dependent metalloenzyme system which is made more efficient
in a nickel enriched environment. Bromide has known antiproliferative
properties (used or tending to inhibit cell growth) and may also
exert an antipruritic effect (preventing or relieving itching).

Have
any clinical studies been done for Loma Lux® Psoriasis?
Clinical studies of 86 psoriasis subjects given oral doses of nickel
sulfate and sodium bromide, two principal ingredients of Loma Lux®
Psoriasis, indicate a high degree of statistical significance in
the improvement in psoriasis area and severity measurements (PASI score).
Ninety-eight percent of subjects exhibited a moderate to marked improvement.
A double blind placebo controlled study confirmed safety and efficacy,
employing nickel and bromide from a nickel bromide source.

Are
there any side effects to Loma Lux® Psoriasis?
There are no known side effects or no known interactions with any other
drugs (birth control, vitamins, etc.) that may be taken with Loma
Lux® Psoriasis (whether it is for the same problem or not).

How
long will it take to get results using Loma Lux® Psoriasis?
It depends on the person and the problem. The nickel ingredients in
the liquid product can be under-absorbed. People will absorb the product
at 15-50%. So the person that absorbs at a rate of 50% will most likely
get results faster than the one that absorbs at a rate of 15%. Results
do vary. You must take according to directions. The minimum treatment
length should be at least 4 to 5 months.

What
time of day do I take Loma Lux® Psoriasis?
Take medication orally at the beginning of the day before eating or
drinking anything other than water for one hour after taking medication
in order to improve absorption.

How
long will I have to take Loma Lux® Psoriasis? Will it make the problem
go away forever?
This
also depends on the person; some will take the product for 4-8 weeks
(one bottle), get good results and be able to stop taking the product
for a long period of time. Some people will not be able to stop taking
the product, they might try to stop but will almost immediately have
a reoccurrence. Some will reduce the dose and stay on it for long-term
maintenance. Some people will be able to set up a routine; for example,
a woman has experimented with Loma Lux® Psoriasis and found
she can take the product for four weeks, then not take it for two, then
take it for four, then not… and so on. Every person will have
to work out what is best for them after they’ve got their first
results.

Will
Loma Lux® Psoriasis hurt me if I take it for a long time?
The
product is extremely safe and there are no side effects when taken for
long periods of time, provided they are taken in the correct dosage.

Is
Loma Lux® Psoriasis safe?
Yes! Homeopathic medications have been used for centuries worldwide.
There are no known negative side effects with homeopathy, unlike many
conventional drugs. Many prescription drugs rely on strength to over-power
a disease. In the process, there can be serious side effects and toxicity
problems. The theory behind homeopathics is that they work at the cellular
level by stimulating the body's own natural healing ability.

Can
I give Loma Lux® Psoriasis to my young children?
The product is safe for children. The bottle says not to administer
to children under ten years old, but that is because the products have
not been tested for the FDA on very young children. Weight adjusted
dosing is recommenced for very small consumers.
IMPORTANT: Reduce the amount proportionally when giving to anyone
under weight.

Can
I take the LOMA LUX products if I’m pregnant or nursing?
It is not recommended that you take the product when pregnant or nursing.
The product has never been tested on unborn children or very small children.

Isn’t
nickel a heavy metal, toxic and causes cancer?
No. Nickel is NOT a heavy metal. It is very similar to iron or cobalt
(in the vitamin B-12).
LOMA
LUX products are NOT TOXIC. The amount of nickel in Loma Lux®
Psoriasis is less than FDA and EPA standards for safe consumption
in diet and drinking water. There are only micro amounts of nickel in
tablet products (e.g. safe even in nickel allergic individuals). However,
everything is toxic in high enough doses. It would take 50-100 times
recommended doses to begin to see toxicity with Loma Lux® Psoriasis.
Nickel has NEVER been shown to produce cancer even in very high doses
when given orally (by mouth). Several long-term animal studies have
proven this.

Can
I take Loma Lux® Psoriasis if I am allergic to Nickel?
There are only micro amounts of nickel in Loma Lux® Psoriasis,
but for individuals allergic to nickel used in costume jewelry (watches
and earrings), use Loma Lux® Psoriasis only under the advice
or supervision of a physician.

What
is Homeopathic Medication?
Homeopathy is a 200 year old medical science which uses natural substances
of mineral, plant, or animal origin to stimulate the body's own immune
system in order to affect a healing response. In homeopathy, symptoms
are an important tool that helps point the way to an internal imbalance.
Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the father of Homeopathy (1755-1843), determined
that symptoms were simply responses to bodily stresses which indicate
an imbalance. In fact, he concluded in a positive light that symptoms
are used by the body in an attempt to heal itself (e.g., a fever is
not a disease but a symptom of a disease which the body uses to fight
the disease); therefore, symptoms should not be suppressed, but stimulated.
Based on a set of symptoms, the appropriate homeopathic medicine (remedy)
acts as a catalyst to boost the body's natural defense mechanisms in
order to bring about healing.
Used
worldwide, homeopathic remedies are based on the 'law of similars' -
similia similibus curentur (let likes be cured by likes). This law is
paradoxical in that when taken in large doses, a natural substance will
cause the same symptoms in a healthy person as those which are caused
by a specific illness. The paradox occurs when the same substance is
taken in minute doses (infinitesimal or ultra-low doses) instead of
causing the symptoms of the illness; it stimulates the body's natural
healing defenses with no toxic side effects. In fact, to date there
are no known adverse side effects from natural homeopathic remedies.
Homeopathic medicine can be used as a safe and effective alternative
to traditional medical practices (allopathic medicine) or in combination
with traditional treatments (there are no known drug interactions between
natural homeopathic medicines and traditional medicines).
Since the 1800's over 2000 homeopathic medicines have been carefully
tested ('proven') for their specific symptom pattern and meticulously
catalogued into a comprehensive collection of homeopathic remedies.
The compilations are usually named after their compiler (e.g. Kent's
Materia Medica, Clark's Materia Medica). In 1833, the first United States
homeopathic school was founded by Dr. Constantine Hering in Allentown,
Pennsylvania, and in 1844, the American Institute of Homeopathy was
founded. In 1888, the first volume of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia
of the United States (HPUS) was issued by the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia
Convention. Substances outlined in the HPUS were then adopted by the
US Congress as an official compendium (reference guide) in 1938 and
are recognized as official drugs in the current Food, Drug and Cosmetic
Act and the Code of Regulations. The HPUS is continually updated to
reflect current manufacturing methods and guidelines for prescription
and non-prescription status of homeopathic remedies.
The manufacture and sale of the homeopathic remedies offered by LOMA
LUX Laboratories comply with all government rules and regulations and
general goods manufacturing practices (GMP).
